Help A Kid Out started over 40 years ago in the heart of a little girl lacking love in a complete family. That included a Mother,Father,4 sisters and a brother. Growing up in a family but always feeling alone her whole life. As child she was abused , she was neglected, abandoned , unloved and hungry. Through this hard journey she made her mind up even as a 7 year old child that she would ‘‘always” stand up and protect kids NO Matter WHAT may come. Being lead by her Lord ‘Jesus Christ’ In 1996 At 22 years old she started doing neighborhood clothes ,shoes, food giveaways out her house. Althou living in the Hood her self she decided to make a difference in less fortunate kids and families lives.
2005 when I noticed how much I enjoy being around kids, my house always stayed filled with all the neighborhood kids of all ages. I Loved being a safe place for them to come ,a place to eat, a place to play, a place to be safe, a place for them to be a happy kid despite of all the hardship and violence we were surrounded by.
2008 On my way to church I realizes that a lot of the kids were outside playing insteadof going to church .I prayed on what I could do about it,the Lord put it on my heart to start a kids ministy catering to KIDS ONLY .I started using my pink truck and started picking kids up from everywhere . Many times having to make 7-10 trips to pick up all the kids. My face would light up at the kids that I couldn’t pick up walking in the sweltering heat just to come .It was so fun and drew so many many kids to the Lord . I heard of all the pain and sacrifices that families where going through behind closed doors and bitterly wept. It inspired me more to help kids and families and I did with even more enthusiasm. Althogh finally becoming a 501 c 3 in 2024 we are definitely not the ‘New Kids On The Block '' we the ones trying to ‘‘HELP A KID OUT’’!
